Ladies First at James Beard House Dinner

NWS proprietress Michelle Battista spent International Women's Day surrounded by a group of kick ass ladies at the James Beard House in New York City. The dinner, called Women Chefs Rule: Vegan Edition, showcased the immense talent of women in the food and wine industries. As a board member of WCR, she dedicating herself to the promotion of women in food on a national and international scale. "I've really found a home at WCR. I've never been a part of a community so giving of their time and energies, so selfless... all in service to equality, equity and diversity."

The dinner was a feast of plant-based foods, highlighting how women are at the forefront of contemporary cuisine. Bonus: each course came with a wine pairing from women winemakers. Everything looked almost too good to eat – almost.

Watch this space for more news on how The Nightwood Society is working to lift up and promote women in food, farming, winemaking, and design. It's all connected to our mission to create one of a kind experiences in food. We always appreciate your support!
